Secret Shutter Card with Daisy Delight!

I have had so much fun with this! I originally saw a version of this card when a fellow Stampin Up demonstrator brought one to team training a little while ago. I was intrigued. I'm not a huge fan of fussy cards but I do like ones with added dimension , movement or  interesting folds. I watched an excellent tutorial on You Tube by Francine Martin which was excellent. thank yo Francine!  I had a couple of goes using the Cool Treats Suite from Stampin Up. I loved how they turned out and thought the new Daisy Delight Papers Stamps and Punch would be perfect for it.

The fun part of it is the message that is hidden inside behind the shutter. When the card is opened the shutter also opens allowing you to see the message appear.

It looks complicated but it is really is a simple card to make.
This is how I made it

Less is more!

Sometimes less is more don't you think! That's the way I would describe this card . I have used just a few stamps from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set and the Blossom Builder Punch. It is a three step stamp set allowing you to build up layers of colour on the images of the petals. Then they are simply punched out before gently curling with my fingers and adhering to the front of my card. I love this bright colour Pink. Its Melon Mambo and of course the cardstock is dyed to match it perfectly. Its great how Stampin Up do that with all their colours. The green Old Olive sets it off perfectly I think.
I will be sending out some of these cards. #makeacardsendacard

This is how I made it

My card stock base is Whisper White A4 cut in half at 10.5 cm and scored at 14.8 cm.
The Front panels are Melon Mambo at 10 cm x 14.3 cm and Whisper White at 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm.

Just to give you the heads up and possibly save you some money, this Stamp
set and punch is currently priced  as a bundle in the catalogue saving you 10%, however when the new catalogue goes live on 1st June it will not be offered as a bundle so if you would like it at a saving make sure you order before 31st May.

The brand new Stampin Up Annual Catalogue is launched 1st June.   Please let me know if you would like a copy.  If you would like to have a look at some of the products used in my projects pop over to katebolt.stampinup.net

Daisy Delight Card

I needed to make some Thank you cards so I thought I would have a play with the new Daisy products from Stampin up. The Designer Series Paper is so pretty. Full of beautiful images and colours. I played with this paper for the first time properly today and I am in love with it. I can see it being used a lot in all sorts of projects. Its not flowery throughout. There are definitely a couple of designs that would be good for the chaps too. ( not that I think the flowers are just for ladies of course!) I love every single design in this pack.

I used the large daisy image and its matching punch. I love a punch and was very pleased to see this one! The card base is in one of the brand new 2017 - 2019 In colours, Powder Pink and I picked the colours from the paper when stamping the daisy and leaves.

This is how I made it

My cardstock base is Powder Pink. A4 card cut in half at 10.5 cm and scored in half at 14.8 cm.
The DSP panel is 8.5 cm x 14. 8 cm
The DSP edge panels are 2.5 cm x 14.8 cm.
The banners are Whisper White and DSP, both at 2.5 cm x 8 cm
Ink Pads : Powder Pink, Dapper Denim, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.
I really hope you like it.

This beautiful Daisy Suite will be available from June 1st in the brand new Stampin Up Catalogue. If you would like a copy please let me know. Id be delighted to send you one. If you would like to have a look at some of the products used in my projects pop over to katebolt.stampinup.net

#Make Something That Means Something.

A card in the post or a hand written note is such a  joy to receive don't you think? Even with the instant connectivity of the internet there is nothing like a card arriving and knowing that someone has taken the trouble to put pen to paper, and posted it to you.  This has inspired my project today. Its a pretty gift box to hold cards. Its an easy make, made using the envelope punch board. I made it to fit  standard size cards and envelopes just because that's the size I make most often.

See here for how I made them

The materials I have used are:

Designer Series Paper Stack in Subtles. (Patterned paper)  9.5 x 9.5 inches
Scrap of Whisper White card stock for sentiment.
Scrap of matching card stock in Blushing Bride or Pool Party
Basic Pearls
Blushing Bride Ribbon or Vanilla Satin Ribbon
Inks in Blushing Bride or Pool Party.
Adhesive-Tombow or Tear n Tape

The tools used are :

Envelope Punch Board
Stitched Shape Framelit Oval
Blossom Punch
Suite Sentiments Stamp Set

I have a special friend who is so kind and giving. She has a lot of penfriends so one of these gift boxes will be going to her filled with a selection of my hand made cards. If you are interested in learning how to make cards do get in contact. I run classes suitable for beginners through to advanced crafters. I'm also happy to do a one to one to get you started if you'd like. There really is nothing like a hand made card popping through the letter box. So if you'd like to spread a little cheer and make something that means something Id love to hear from you.
If you would like to have a look at some of the products used in my projects pop over to katebolt.stampinup.net   If you place an on line order for between £20 and £150 please add hostess code YUWHS2PW on checking out and I will send you a little thank you gift at the end of the month. If your order is £150 or more there is no need to add the code as you will earn your own Stampin Rewards! New Product Sneek Peek Daisy Delight.

Mondays brings a new challenge from the Global Design Project. Each week the challenge changes and this week it is a sketch challenge. This is the sketch we have been given this week.
I love taking part as it stretches your creativity and its great fun to see how different everyone's entries are each week. I only posted last weeks entry a couple of days ago. Last week was a full one for me! We have a full week to take part and this week I thought Id try and get ahead.
I have been busy playing with products from the new Stampin Up catalogue that is due out next month and I just love this stamp set Daisy Delight. I have used the large main daisy image in this card and its matching punch. I just love a punch! So useful. I have also included three of the brand new 2017-2019 In Colours, Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist.

The front panel is a piece of water colour paper 14.3 cms x 10 cms. Using an aqua painter I laid down water in a panel in the middle of the paper. Using the Aqua painter and using my Lemon Lime Twist ink pad lid as a palate I then added colour to the paper. I repeated this with the Powder Pink ink also until I had the desired water colour effect. I then dried it using my heat tool. It could also be left to dry if you don't have one. I stamped out the daisy 5 times in powder pink and then using a stamp from Timeless Textures added little splotches all over the petals in Berry Burst before cutting out with the punch. I then layered all the daisies together and adhered using tombow glue to give a nice full flower effect. I have then lightly curled the petals with my fingers. The base of my card is in Lemon Lime Twist. A4 card cut in half at 10.5 cms and scored at 14.8 cms.  I have stamped the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set. I love the font and versatility in this sentiment.  For the finishing touch I have added some droplets of glue form the fine tipped applicator glue which have set and give the impression of dew or rain drops.
Hop over to the Global design project to see what awesome work the design team have done and also all the other entries too at #GDP

Find Your Creative Side. Delightful Daisies and Global Design Project #085

For the Global Design Project challenge this week #GDP085 we were given a colour challenge. To create a card using three of the five In Colours 2015-2017 that will be retiring in June. I love that each week we are set a different challenge to get those creative juices flowing. The Global Design Team have made some fabulous projects to inspire us. Hop over and look at all their lovely work and also all of the other entries into the challenge here #GDP085

I always find the colour challenges tough and I only actually own three of these five ink pads! So the colour combination was chosen for me. Two of which I absolutely love and work very well together. These are Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron. The other colour I own is Delightful Dijon.

To make my card I pulled out the brand new Stamp Set  Daisy Delight! Its so new its not available to customers to buy until June 1st when the new catalogue launches. I just love it. it has lots of lovely images and a very useful matching punch.  I paired it here with one of my much loved but under used stamp sets Jar of Love.

I stamped the small daisy image lots of times and did a little fussy cutting before adding them to my jar. I don't know if you can see the sparkle on the petals where I added Wink of Stella to the petals.

I used the sentiment from another set that is from the new catalogue but is already available for customers to buy in a bundle deal called Eastern Palace. It has lots of beautiful images and words in it. I cut it out using the Stitched Framelit Dies and layering Oval Framelits.
I don't own any other embellishments in these colours but thought the ribbon gave it a finishing touch. Its amazing how creative you can be when challenged with a limited colour pallet. I hope you like it.

If you would like to have a look at some of the products used hop over to katebolt.stampinup.net   If you place an on line order for between £20 and £150 please add hostess code YUWHS2PW on checking out and I will send you a little thank you gift at the end of the month. If your order is £150 or more there is no need to add the code as you will earn your own Stampin Rewards! Easy to make note cards and gift box and a new favourite colour!

I couldn't resist making a little box of note cards with the new Eastern Palace range from Stampin Up. They are just 4 x 4 in size and the box is 4 1/2x 4 1/2 so that the notecards and envelopes fit nicely inside. The colours in the Designer Series Papers are lovely. New 2017 In Colours which are Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist put with Dapper Denim and Very Vanilla. For my first go I used the rich jewel tones. Its so easy to layer up the papers on the card base, with the die cuts and some of the luxurious gold stickers. Inside I have used Very Vanilla as an insert and stamped my sentiment in matching inks.

Here is how I made the box.

Card stock at 10 1/2 x 5 1/2
With your card stock horizontal score at 1/2, 5, 51/2, and 10 inches.
With your card stock portrait score at 1/2 an inch and at 5 inches.

For my second set I decided to pick out the Lemon Lime Twist. This has to be my new favourite colour! Its the first time I have used it and I love it!

This is how I made the note cards

Card base is 8 inches by 4 inches. Score in half at 4 inches.
DSP panel is 3 3/4 inches square
Very Vanilla card stock insert is 3 3/4 inches square.

I hope you like them! You can see how versatile this collection is. Its great for all occasions and is not gender specific. A great set to have. You can order the Eastern Palace Suite now, ahead of the new Annual Catalogue Launch. It is being offered in a choice of two bundles, both with a discount and also free product thrown in too!. If you would like to have a look you can see it at katebolt.stampinup.net   If you place an on line order for between £20 and £150 please add hostess code YUWHS2PW on checking out and I will send you a little thank you gift at the end of the month. If your order is £150 or more there is no need to add the code as you will earn your own Stampin Rewards! Cute Favour/Tealight Box using Eastern Palace and New In Colours!

I just love this time of the year! The brand new paper crafting range from Stampin Up is due to be released in about a month and us demonstrators are having an exciting time playing with new products , getting ready for the new catalogue launch on June 1st and I have been playing with the brand new Eastern Palace Suite from Stampin Up ALOT . I've just had a lovely few days away with family to center parcs and whilst the hubby was doing his archery and laser rifle shooting I had a great time paper crafting.  As a demonstrator I can get my hands on new products before they are released to customers, just one of the perks of the job and its great. This range of products is just beautiful. As always Stampin Up have done an amazing job of producing a Suite of products that all coordinate with each other fabulously. No trying to match things up or going from place to place to get something that goes with it. All the hard work is done for you and of course time and money saved too!

Stampin Up have released the Eastern Palace Suite for customers a month ahead of the new catalogue launch, in two different bundles for customers to buy EARLY! complete with free products and three of the brand new 2017 In Colours! You can get these bundles from today May 1st through May 31st only. See them here.

I've had mine a few weeks now and have loved 'playing' with them. The stamps and coordinating dies have endless possibilities of combinations and I feel that I will be using them in lots of different ways for a long time to come. Most definitely worth the investment and a great set to have in your stash for all occasions. Here are a couple of my first cards I made with this set.

I love the rich jewel tones in these papers and you can see a couple of our new In Colours here. Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig. These cards were actually quite quick and easy using some of the beautiful DSP, die cuts and a little stamping. I have added a small gold sticker from the suite to the centre of the flowers. The pack of stickers are gorgeous! Very luxurious.

Amongst other things I have also made a cute little box too. Its a perfect size to hold  small sweet treat, or a tea light and work well as a table favour. it would also be the perfect size for a pair of earrings maybe.

See here how I made the box , all the Papers, dies, stamps and stickers in the range and the rest of the new 2017-2019 In colours.

Materials used : Card stock in Dapper Denim at 4 x 6 inches
Scrap of Very Vanilla card stock
Ink Pads: Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide
Eastern Palace DSP : 1 piece at 1 1/4  x 1 3/4 inches, 2 pieces at 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches and 2 pieces at 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches.

Score at 1,  2.5, 3.5, and 5 inches (with your cardstock landscape)
Score at 1 and 3 inches (with your card stock portrait)

I really hope you like the video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you do. I will be posting more using the Eastern Palace Suite throughout this week. If you like any of the products used you can find them here at http://katebolt.stampinup.net  If you place an on line order for between £20 and £150 please add hostess code UF6J4X33 on checking out and I will send you a little thank you gift at the end of the month. If your order is £150 or more there is no need to add the code as you will earn your own Stampin Rewards! If there is anything you would like help with, don't hesitate to ask. I would love to earn your custom.
