A Little Note! Butterflies And Vellum

A Little Note

Butterflies And Vellum

Butterfly card - A Little Note. White embossed butterflies on vellum

It's been ages since I embossed on vellum but I have had this idea in the back of my mins since I saw this stamp set for the first time. I was looking for a fun card with a technique for my team meeting and thought it was about time I got the idea out of me head and onto card.

Doesn't the white on black pop? I love it! And whilst we were creating one of my lovely team members suggested adding colour to the back of the butterflies. I coloured this one in with Light Night Of Navy and Dark Balmy Blue Blend pens - It really is effective don't you think?!

Happy Tails! Just Fur You!

Happy Tails - Just Fur You!

Inspire Create Stamping Challenge #035

This time, in the Inspire Create Challenge we have a sketch challenge! Are you a cat or a dog person?Or maybe both?  I have been itching to play with the Happy Tails stamp set and Punch Bundle and this was the perfect excuse!

Happy Tails card. Dog Card, Stampin' Up!. Card made using Dog stamps and punch

Here is our sketch. I think I kept to it fairly well don't you?

The dog stamp is very versatile. His outline stamp is separate from his "patches" so you can stamp him without them. There are also spots too 😊. There are lots of fun dog themed images and great sentiments in the set. I think I'm going be using it a lot.

I love his patches.

His colour is nothing like our lovely black Labradoodle (who is asleep here on his bean bag πŸ˜€) Perhaps my next card using this set should feature him!

How I Made It

Happy Tails card. Dog Card, Stampin' Up!. Card made using Dog stamps and punch

The card base is Whisper White. A4, scored at 10.5 cm and cut in half at 14.9 cm.
The layer is Crumb Cake. 10cm x 14.3 cm.
A layer of Basic Gray. 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm.

The top is Pear Pizazz. 9cm x 13.3 cm, stamped first in Early Espresso and then run through the Woodland Embossing Folder.

A length of Burlap and Pear Pizzazz Ribbon is attached to the Pear Pizazz Card before adhering down.

The Basic Grey Circle was cut out using the Stitched Shape Framelits and used as an anchoring point for the card elements.

The dog was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White and punched out.
His patches were stamped in Early Espresso - stamped off first onto scrap paper.
His kennel was stamped in Crumb Cake Ink onto Crumb Cake card and cut out and the little heart was also punched out using the dog punch builder punch.

I hope you like it!  I'm looking forward to making quite a few more projects with this set. Look out for those.

Do join along, it's so much fun and we would love to have you. You can link it to a blog or FB or Pinterest Post. It's easy to do and the instructions are there at the top.

I think these cards are so pretty and I love that they are a pocket card, with room for your message and also a pocket to pop things in. Wouldn't they be lovely to pop a photograph in to send to a family member or a friend? Or even to put in a scrapbook with some hidden journalling. I think I will have found lots more uses for these by the end of Saleabration.

Coffee And Cards - Using Your DSP

Coffee And Cards - Using Your DSP

Handmade card using the Incredible Like You Stamp set and the Share What You Love DSP. Coffee and Cards.

Do you have a stash of Designer Series Papers? (DSP). Do you use it for your cards and scrapbooking?, Do you cut it up and use it or do you love it so much, you stash it away until you have a "worthy" use for it?

So I brought a pack of the gorgeous Share What You Love DSP to Coffee and Cards this week to share the love of cutting up our DSP and getting it used to make some beautiful cards.

Handmade card using the Incredible Like You Stamp set and the Share What You Love DSP. Coffee and Cards.

O K here are a few reasons that might help liberate that pretty paper you've been saving.
Paper trends change. It dates. So that paper you fell in love with a while ago - you may find you don't love it as much as you did at the time!  Also, that beautiful paper is only beautiful if you can see it. It's not so lovely stashed away in a drawer. Oh and thirdly, It is one of the least expensive parts of your stash. If you use it up, guess what - you can buy another pack. But if you don't use it and you see some more pretty paper you would like, you might think, oh no, I can't buy that, I haven't used what I already have. You still won't use your stash and you wont buy any more, just feel guilty about it. Who wants that! Right?!

Handmade card using the Incredible Like You Stamp set and the Share What You Love DSP. Coffee and Cards.

The ladies chose which papers they wanted to use, and if I needed to cut into a 12 x 12 sheet for just one card front, guess what? We did!  It will all get used. One sheet can make 6 card fronts!

I took along the new Incredible Like You stamp set for the lovely sentiments and beautiful font, and some stitched squares of Whisper White cut out using the Stitched Shape Framelit Dies.
The DSP panel was glued onto the Whisper White card base, we stamped our sentiment onto the die cut and adhered it to the front using Dimensionals. We added a little bow from matching Bakers twine with a glue dot for the finishing touch.

So pretty aren't they! I hope they have inspired you to use up your patterned papers.

We have so much fun at Coffee and Cards. It's such a lovely group and today we were celebrating one of the ladies birthdays! They do lovely cakes here.

But we thought we would stay for lunch/brunch so we all chose either bacon, sausages, eggs or a combination in a sandwich.

We stayed for a bacon sandwich brunch to celebrate a birthday at Coffee and Cards

What a civilised way to celebrate her birthdayπŸ˜€

I hope you like the cards we made this week. We have a gorgeous selection of papers in the new Spring Summer and Saleabration catalogues. Do have a browse.
